On June 19th, the Princess of Wales appeared in a polka dot dress and white shoes with black tips for the Order of the Garter ceremony. A look borrowed from the one who held this title before her.
A princess with polka dots. On June 19th at Windsor Castle, the royal family of England gathered for the annual Order of the Garter ceremony, dressed in ceremonial attire. Tudor bonnets, ostrich feathers, and velvet coats adorned King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and of course, Prince William. As she is not part of the circle of knights of this ancient order, the Princess of Wales did not wear the traditional regalia. However, she still emphasized her affiliation to the clan in a white dress with black polka dots. Accompanied by a fascinator hat and a pair of two-tone pumps, Kate Middleton's silhouette pays tribute to the legacy of Lady Di.
A message written in black and white
Over the weekend, Kate Middleton was already wearing one of her late mother-in-law's favorite pairs of earrings for the Trooping the Colour parade. This time, the Princess of Wales took the tribute even further by opting for a structured Alessandra Rich dress, a Philip Treacy headpiece, and a pair of white shoes with black tips. A silhouette that is strikingly similar to the one worn by Lady Diana for the Royal Ascot race in 1988. Last year, Kate Middleton had already paid tribute to her husband's mother by choosing this pattern on the famous racetrack. On June 19th, she persists and confirms. It's all about the polka dots.
