Victoria Beckham Shows Off in Giant Crocs-Inspired Boots

While in 2021 she had stated that she would prefer to die than wear a pair of Crocs, Victoria Beckham finally decided to give it a try.
High heels and elegance are her creed, and sophistication is her watchword. At 49 years old, Victoria Beckham is known for making a point of carefully maintaining her distinguished appearance. After all, wasn't she "Posh" (meaning "chic" in French, or even "snobbish") back in the 2000s as part of the Spice Girls? This style and aesthetic are also reflected in the brand that bears her name. However, there are exceptions to every rule, and on July 25th, she provided proof of that on her Instagram story.
The designer posted a photo of herself wearing a black skirt and top, a simplicity that is familiar to her. However, one element stood out from the ordinary: the enormous pair of yellow Crocs on her feet. The shoes, seemingly coming straight out of a cartoon, are signed by the brand MSCHF. Worn by the influencer and transformation specialist Tommy Cash at Paris Fashion Week and by Paris Hilton in the advertising campaign, they will be available for purchase on August 9th at the price of $450 (406 euros).
The brand, short for Mischief (which means "méfait" in French), is known for its quirky and eccentric designs. Among others, they have marketed red cartoon-style boots, sneakers containing a drop of blood, and more recently, a microscopic bag, three times smaller than a sesame seed, sold for almost 58,000 euros.
Indeed, it's a extravagant universe quite far from that of the designer. In 2021, she had even sworn never to wear Crocs. "I think I'd rather die," she declared on Instagram in April 2021. After receiving a pair in lilac color as a gift from Justin Bieber to promote his brand, Drew House, the former Spice Girl sought the opinion of her millions of followers on Instagram to decide whether she should wear them or not. At that time, 57% of her community had responded "no." "Well, it was close! [...] thank you anyway @justinbieber!" she had written. It just goes to show... Never say never.
