The New Mayor of Kentucky is a Real Animal!
Literally.
26-June-2017
Since being a mayor is a “ruff” job, why not let a dog do it? Okay, that makes no sense whatsoever, but we’re about to tell you isn’t any more logic: Kentucky now has a new mayor, and it’s a dog. Three-year-old pitbull Brynneth Pawltro was the lucky winner of the mayoral election. But what’s even more shocking is that it isn’t the first time something of this sort happened in this small town; three dogs were elected before him.
"It started in the late 1990s as a fundraiser," said Kayser, who works with the Rabbit Hash Historical Society. "We charge you a dollar for your vote, you vote as often as you want." The money helped to repair the General Store after a devastating fire last year, so the whole thing isn’t that crazy after all. The town is actually so small it doesn't need a real mayor, so they might as well elect a dog, which they did!
