To celebrate her 50th spring in Paris, the English model wore a transparent lace dress. A piece that, by the way, confirms her affection for second-hand fashion.
The cold weather period will never get the better of Kate Moss, and even less so her style. On the evening of Tuesday, January 16, while the Louis Vuitton fashion show was in full swing in the west of the capital, the British model was photographed in Paris. First exiting the Ritz, then at the entrance of the very chic Laurent restaurant, where she was celebrating her 50th birthday surrounded by her loved ones. To mark the occasion, Kate Moss had chosen one of her signature pieces: the transparent dress. Designed by New York Vintage, the dress was characterized by long sleeves and black lace, subtly revealing the top model's underwear. To complete her grand evening look, the mother of Lila Moss covered her shoulders with a black and orange satin cape with fringed details by Alexandra King, an independent British label specializing in vintage. Not to mention the sparkling jewelry that adorned her left wrist, her ears, and even covered the straps of her stiletto sandals. Accompanying her for the evening were her boyfriend Nikolai Von Bismarck, as well as two of her longtime friends: fashion designer Stella McCartney and businesswoman Charlotte Tilbury, founder of the famous cosmetics brand.
Kate Moss and Vintage, a Lasting Story
It's very rare to imagine a famous model wearing anything other than a luxury piece from a recent collection to celebrate a birthday or walk the red carpet. Yet, Kate Moss celebrated her 50th birthday wearing second-hand. Moss adopted vintage long before it became trendy. Pieces found either in shops during her travels or from online resellers, like her black lace dress from January 16. "The great thing about Kate is that I can come home with a £20 dress (about 23 euros) from the market, and she'll put it on and go out that night, and literally amaze everyone," says James Brown, Kate Moss's hairstylist, to British Vogue. He continues: "But she can also wear a £10,000 Dior dress (11,650 euros) and do the same. She's not pretentious about it."
