Dermatologist @Dermato_drey advises against these masks in a video posted on her Instagram account. However, have you ever wondered if a Nap can Make Up for a Bad Night's Sleep?
Dermato_drey is one of the few dermatologists to speak out on social media in France. Her Instagram account now has 93,000 followers. In one of her latest videos, she discusses the case of night masks. Used on airplanes and also in daily life, they allow those who cannot tolerate light while sleeping to isolate themselves from it. However, according to the professional, this is not necessarily a good idea, "especially if you have swollen eyelids or bags under your eyes." She indeed warns that these masks, especially if they are too tight, limit "the movement of the muscles around the eyes. As a result, venous and lymphatic drainage is less effective."
Better Quality Sleep
For this mask issue, she therefore suggests opting for opaque shutters or curtains to create total darkness, which "will promote better quality sleep." And for those who cannot do without a mask, it is better to choose a wider model that does not exert pressure, "even if it means readjusting it during the night."
