A deep cleansing: HydraFacial
Is it still necessary to introduce this three-step facial treatment (cleanse, extract, hydrate), which is the most practiced in the world? A treatment performed every twelve seconds! The session lasts 30 minutes and ends with the application of a treating booster, a concentrate of active ingredients by JLo Beauty, Murad, Dr. Nassif… if desired. However, if you’re wondering which cleanser suits our face the best, we advise you to read our article Which Face Cleanser Should I use?
For what? To achieve baby skin, ultra-soft, especially if you have oily skin. And it also removes all blackheads!
Aftercare: Some temporary redness, especially on reactive skin. Makeup is not recommended until the next day. So, it's up to you depending on your obligations. A cleansing once a month or every two months is recommended.
The clean bis option: OxyGeneo
This treatment for all skin types cleanses, exfoliates, oxygenates tissues, and infuses them with a cocktail of custom-made actives, whose penetration is activated by ultrasound. Fun fact: the ingredients are enclosed in a tablet and activated upon contact with a gel previously applied to the skin, which releases small bubbles of O2, with a sparkling effect.
For what? To achieve clear, fresh, comfortable skin.
Aftercare: None. A treatment once a month or every two months is a good rhythm. The session lasts 1 hour.
Perfectly revitalized skin: Enhanced mesotherapy
These are micro-injections of a solution of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and free hyaluronic acid.
For what? "An immediate glow, but it's a long-term revitalizing treatment, which encourages the skin to regenerate itself," says Dr. Michel Tordjman, who has been practicing it for decades. It is suitable for everyone, at any age. More and more, mesotherapy is combined with a bit of ND Yag laser which heats the dermis to gently boost neocollagenesis, or even with a "lunchtime peel" with glycolic acid (at 20%), a mini-injection of free hyaluronic acid, or even with resorbable inducing threads mounted on ultra-fine needles for a skin mesh in polylactic acid, which is not felt under the skin but contributes to biorevitalization.
Aftercare: Some redness and small bruises may occur with the peel and associated treatments, but they can be easily concealed with a corrective stick.
Brightened complexion: IPL
Pulsed light is making a comeback with highly sophisticated technologies like IPL. This light covers the entire light spectrum, and depending on the selected filter, it acts on spots, redness, or stimulates skin tone. The session lasts 30 minutes.
What for? To achieve a unified, radiant complexion, rejuvenated skin.
Aftercare: Light redness, easy to conceal, and discreet swelling. "The latter may be more pronounced on skin prone to rosacea. If you don't want it to be noticeable, it is possible to lower the settings, but you have to accept two or three more sessions," says Arnaud Lambert, aesthetic doctor. Two or three days later, the treated spots darken and remain in that state for three or four days, but with a covering foundation, it's manageable. The protocol includes three sessions, spaced one month apart.
Smoothing and firming: Non-ablative fractional laser
It does not abrade the epidermis, but creates microlayers in the skin, from which it regenerates.
For what? To revive a dull complexion, refine skin texture, tighten enlarged pores, blur fine lines and spots. The session lasts about twenty minutes.
Aftercare: The face is redder than after IPL, but still "coverable." "If you don't want to be too marked, you should tell the doctor who will adjust the treatment, and with a good covering foundation, nothing will show," advises Séverine Lafaye, dermatologist. From the next day, the epidermis feels rough, which lasts for three or four days. The protocol is three or four sessions, spaced one month apart. The result on skin tone appreciates after two or three months.
Lifting effect: HIFU
Microfocused ultrasound delivers energy, with multiple impacts, throughout the epidermis, which works the tissue and leads to its progressive retraction.
For what? "To provide a small lifting effect to sagging jawlines and necks, and also to lighten slightly puffy faces," says Marie-Thérèse Bousquet, aesthetic doctor. The session lasts 45 minutes. A second one is possible if needed.
Aftercare: Most often, slight redness, easy to conceal. The result is appreciated after two months.
