Queen B's latest hair project is now available on the brand's website since Tuesday, February 20th.
After dominating the music scene, she now aims to "Run The World" of the hair care industry. On February 13th, while unveiling "Texas Hold'em" and "16 Carriages," two new songs from her upcoming album, Beyoncé also announced the creation of Cécred, her hair care product line. The official launch took place on Tuesday, February 20th. A Legacy Project
During the launch, Beyoncé gave an interview to Essence magazine, aimed at African American women, where she discussed the origins of her project, which she describes as "inherited and deeply rooted in my ancestral heritage." "It's more than just a business," the singer stressed. "Hair is our lineage; it's our family's history." Beyoncé credits her fond memories associated with hair to her mother, Tina Knowles, who once ran her own hair salon. "From spending my childhood in my mother's salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis, these moments were sacred to me," she shared. In tribute to these experiences, the 42-year-old singer named her care line Cécred, a blend of the last syllable of her first name, "Cé," and "sacred."
Cécred is a deeply personal project for Beyoncé but also carries a political charge, aiming to fill a gap in the market for textured hair. "Generally, black women are often the last included in testing," she explained. "We are often prescribed things based on studies we did not participate in." For Queen B, this project is "more important than me or the hair." "Today, we have created something that celebrates hair health for all women, including us. I am always honored to invest in us."
