In one of the boldest collaborations in the beauty industry, fast-food giant McDonald's has partnered with British cosmetics brand Nails.Inc to create an enticing collection of nail polish, false nails, and nail art accessories inspired by the chain's best-selling products.
It is worth noting that one of the trendiest colors for nail polish this season is the res, and you can have a look at our article Red Manicure Resurgence: 2024's Chic Comeback.
The limited-edition collection features a "ketchup red" nail polish, a "burger brown" shade, and a top coat sprinkled with golden hearts, nodding to McDonald's famous "I'm lovin' it" slogan. For the more creative, there are also nail stickers with motifs like mini Big Macs, fries in their iconic red box, McFlurry ice creams, and even the golden arches symbolizing the fast-food chain's emblematic logo. Completing the playful and nostalgic range are "ready-to-wear" false nails for sporting a "french fries" manicure.
Available on the Nails.Inc website and Amazon, these accessories are priced from €6.99 to €8.99, making them as affordable as a burger. Just hours after their official release on the UK Amazon site, most of the products and sets from this collection were already sold out.
This isn't McDonald's first foray into blending fast food and beauty. In January 2023, the brand piqued online curiosity by posting a mysterious photo on its French Instagram account, revealing an eyeshadow palette with shades reminiscent of its famous hamburger's ingredients, including "salad green," "cheese yellow," and "steak brown." A previous Instagram post featured a multicolored manicure decorated with drawings of the chain's famous dishes.
Beyond McDonald's, other fast-food chains have also explored this hybrid concept in recent years. In 2022, cosmetics brand E.l.f collaborated with American doughnut chain Dunkin Donuts to create a sweetened makeup collection, while model Hailey Bieber teamed up with Krispy Kreme in 2023 to promote lip balms for her Rhode brand. Rihanna's makeup line, Fenty Beauty, also made headlines by launching ketchup-flavored lip glosses that went viral on social media.
