29-February-2024
This Tuesday, February 27, the young French designer unveiled his new collection named "Less & More" at Espace Commines.
In a former 20th-century industrial warehouse, Espace Commines, located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, the young designer Alphonse Maitrepierre set up his temporary showcase for the fashion show. This venue reflects his new Fall-Winter 2024-2025 collection, as here everything already has a story that continues to be rewritten and reinvented. Looking towards the future with a commitment to increasingly eco-responsible fashion, this new collection challenges the laws of temporality, mirroring our contemporary universe that combines past, present, and future. It is imbued with a unique fashion vocabulary, at the crossroads between the world of art and fashion.

"LESS & MORE": Ambivalences and Paradoxes
In the pristine atmosphere of Espace Commines, guests hold their breath, and as the first notes of music sound, a hint of exhilaration emerges. The silhouettes follow one another. Accompanied by an increasingly lively soundtrack, the looks grow more complex with subtlety and delicacy. Here, the Kawaii aesthetic (a Japanese-origin aesthetic evoking the world of childhood) intersects with the codes of quintessentially Parisian fashion: slip dresses blend with sportswear hoodies and voluminous cashmere coats. Created from recycled fabrics, the garments, tinged with fibers of the past, are worn as true witnesses of the present and seem already poised to turn towards the future.
Continuing his commitment to more responsible fashion, Alphonse Maitrepierre this season initiates a first collaboration with New York artist Gracelee Lawrence, who enhances the silhouettes of his models with pop-colored sculptures made from corn residue. Added to this is a partnership with the quintessentially Parisian shoemaker Carel. On the models' feet, there are eight shoe designs made from bio-sourced materials; on their arms, two new bags, named "George" and "Simone," evoke the names of the brand's founders
The iconic heritage and vision of Maitrepierre engage with modernity and look towards the future with finesse. Armed with his creative power, Alphonse Maitrepierre merges fashion and poetry with an aesthetic signature uniquely his own.
