The recent announcement from The King’s Foundation, made on June 1st, revealed the appointment of David Beckham, 49, as their newest ambassador. Established by King Charles back in 1990 during his time as the Prince of Wales, the charity's mission focuses on fostering improved communities that prioritize the harmonious coexistence of people, places, and the planet.
In a notable visit, the former England soccer captain, Beckham, took a trip to King Charles’ Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire. There, he had the opportunity to meet with the monarch to delve deeper into the organization's endeavors. Additionally, Beckham explored some of the charity’s educational programs firsthand during workshops held on-site. Annually, The King’s Foundation provides educational courses to approximately 15,000 students and implements health and well-being programs benefiting an additional 2,000 individuals.
Among its array of initiatives, The King’s Foundation is actively involved in regeneration projects both in the U.K. and overseas. These projects aim to breathe new life into communities and historical buildings.
"I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work. I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature," Beckham said in a statement.
