Three years after withdrawing from several finals at the Tokyo Olympics, 27-year-old Simone Biles, is once again aiming for the stars in Paris. And for good reason: the athlete won the team gold medal in artistic gymnastics. Two days later, she took part in another major competition, the all-around competition, with the aim of regaining the title she had obtained in Rio in 2016. But if Simone Biles captivates with her extraordinary sport performances, she also stands out with her dazzling outfits.

With a noticeable taste in fashion, Simone Biles has always distinguished herself with sharp looks. Her signature? Her unique leotards, shining with a thousand rhinestones. The latter are the result of a prestigious collaboration between Swarovski and the equipment manufacturer GK Elite, specialized in gymnastics.
The American gymnast particularly made an impression, wearing an outfit embellished with transparent tulle decorated with 10,000 crystals, with an estimated value of around $3,000. A price which makes it the most expensive leotard in the history of the Olympic Games.
Every leotard is ultra functional and is made by laser measure and cuts, for the sake of safety of the athletes. The addition of sparkling crystals recalls the splendor of Paris, the City of Lights. As Jeanne Diaz points out, "not all places lend themselves to inspiration for a fashion collection, but Paris, being the fashion capital of the world, really does." She adds that design, French art, soft lines, curves, Chantilly lace and even elements of corsetry strongly influenced the creation of the models.
In total, more than 47,000 crystals, some of which are applied by hand, adorned the Team USA leotards. “Our athletes always tell us that the more crystals, the better,” says Jeanne Diaz.
