Lately, the famous Pantone Color Institute revealed the star shade of the next twelve months. In 2025, make way for “Mocha Mousse”: in other words, the same color as a creamy hot chocolate. It is “An evocative soft brown that transports our senses into the pleasure and deliciousness it inspires…” specifies the American company in the caption of an Instagram post.
“For our Color of the Year 2025, this time we are turning to a soft brown hue which inherent richness, and sensory, comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can offer and share with others,” adds Laurie Pressman, director of Pantone.
How to wear “Mocha Mousse” in 2025?
The appearance of this relaxing shade is not surprising, since it has been flooding fashion show catwalks for a while. The Saint Laurent house explored the many nuances of 'Mocha Mousse' through its Spring-Summer 2025 collection. During its spectacular show in China, Chanel unveiled an ultra-chic interpretation of the hue with a 100% tweed set. Unlike the more vibrant colors of the previous years, which can be trickier to style, 'Mocha Mousse' exudes calm sophistication as its understated nature adapts effortlessly to volume, layering, and versatile color pairings.
At Miu Miu, for example, the serenity of a cappuccino leather bag harmonized beautifully with the warmth of a darker jacket and the boldness of an electric blue top. Meanwhile, Burberry embraced the hue in a total look: a chocolate jacket, a long cream and hazelnut-checked skirt, and a camel accessory revealed all of 'Mocha Mousse’s' comforting qualities.
