The runway at Jean Paul Gaultier’s Paris headquarters set the stage for Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s Haute Couture debut with a dramatic opening. The SS25 collection, titled Naufrage, blended historical Gaultier references with de Saint Sernin’s signature sensuality.
Models like Candice Swanepoel and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who made a return to the runway, embodied modern sirens in pleated jersey voile, corseted gowns with undone laces and tulle slip dresses adorned with thousands brass pearls.
The show featured nautical themes and classic Gaultier references, like the 1997 boat hat, fitted corsets with dramatic hips, and daring tailoring. De Saint Sernin also brought in new ideas, such as wet-look feathers, crystal-decorated tartan, and crocodile-textured latex outfits. The blend of Gaultier’s bold style with de Saint Sernin’s edgy, modern twist created a seductive and cinematic atmosphere.
