The Cullinan x de Gournay: A Meeting of Artistry and Atmosphere

The Cullinan unveiled its creative collaboration with de Gournay, the distinguished design house known for its intricate hand-painted wallpapers, fabrics, and porcelain. Together, they’ve shaped an experience where heritage, craftsmanship, and elegance converge turning The Cullinan into a space that feels more like a living gallery than a traditional venue.
Central to this collaboration is the bar wall: a bespoke, hand-painted mural gilded in gold leaf. At its heart, a radiant sun casts its glow over fluid waves and a whispering breeze—an ode to the surrounding seascape and the calm rhythm of coastal life.
As guests explore further, each space reveals a thoughtful narrative. The women’s restroom channels a bold yet graceful femininity that reflects The Cullinan’s ties to the sea and its timeless allure. Across the way, the men’s restroom offers a quieter sophistication, with golden details and hand-painted palm trees drawn from de Gournay’s archives.
The Wine Wall blends hand-sewn raffia, embroidered beading, and gold touches in a design that incorporates the ancient Talli technique. Motifs of palm trees, pearls, and coral come together in a textured tapestry of memory, evoking the region’s deep connection to pearl diving and the sea.
"Our collaboration with de Gournay is a celebration of artistry, heritage, and refined design," shares Johnny Tomazos, CEO of FoodFund International. "Every stroke, every texture, and every motif tells a story, bringing a sense of timeless beauty to our interiors."
The Cullinan is now open at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab.
