A future "without smoke"

Over the last decade, Philip Morris International (PMI), one of the world's largest producers of tobacco products, has invested more than $ 3 billion to develop and evaluate "smokeless" tobacco products that are a better choice than cigarettes. The most advanced one, IQOS, is a pen-shaped heater. Ordered electronically, it allows to heat specially adapted tobacco sticks at a temperature which doesn't exceed 350°C, a threshold at which the tobacco starts to burn.
