The 2018 Met Gala’s Most Divine Looks
You’ll never guess what the theme of the evening was.
8-May-2018
Every year, the Met Gala takes place on the first Monday of May, which this year falls on May 7. The celebrities gathered in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York wearing phenomenal pieces by some of the best fashion designers in the world. The theme of the evening? Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Yes folks, prepare to see things like angel wings, halos, embroidered crosses, images of Virgin Mary and… the Pope’s cape! With no further due, here are the best dressed celebrities of the evening.
Rihanna
Rihanna’s attire might have been the most controversial of the evening, but we don’t care, because she was STUNNING! The singer was in a Maison Margiela Pope Benedict XV white silk cape by John Galliano.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande always looks flawless, no matter what she puts on. The 24-year-old pop star opted for a Vera Wang gown.
Anna Wintour
Anna Wintour chose a Chanel dress, and it’s not just because she’s the brand ambassador. It’s simply because no other brand can make her look this amazing. Chanel is simply made for her!
Katy Perry
The Cake singer was spotted on the red carpet in an angelic (literally) golden dress by Versace. The couturier even put wings on her!
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid opted for a jaw-dropping royal blue Versace gown, and we can’t be more pleased with this look. The thigh-high slit was an ingenious touch!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also chose the angel look, wearing an all-white Ralph Lauren gown paired with a halo. We almost thought she was a real angel that fell from the sky!
Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney is a true fashion icon. The Lebanese celebrity wore a beautiful Richard Quinn floral gown. Her overall look made us think of a flamenco dancer!
Jennifer Lopez
J-Lo opted for an unusual look last night. She was in a long-sleeved dress with a huge cross on her chest designed by Balmain.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian looks extremely sexy as always. She chose a curve-hugging golden Versace gown, and to respect the event’s theme, the fashion brand embroidered one or two crosses on it.
Priyanka Chopra
The Indian beauty wore a velvet Ralph Lauren dress accessorized with a bejeweled hood. All those who said Priyanka and Ralph Lauren are "a match made in heaven” were totally right.
Stella Maxwell
Stella Maxwell dared to wear a strapless maxi dress with images of Virgin Mary printed on it. The look was created by none other than Moschino.
