They help you live longer, a study says.

If you’re one of those people who rarely eat carbs to take care of your health, it’s time to stop this bad habit. Cutting carbs can actually do more harm than good, and it can supposedly shorten your lifespan!
According to a study in the journal ‘The Lancet Public Health’ applied on about 15000 middle-aged Americans, those who ate a moderate amount of carbohydrates lived 4 more years than those who opted for a low-carb diet.
The study also states that replacing carbs with animal protein and fat from animals exposes you to earlier death compared to replacing them with vegetables: "Our data suggests that animal-based low carbohydrate diets, which are prevalent in North America and Europe, might be associated with shorter overall life span and should be discouraged," said Sara Seidelmann, member of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. “Too much and too little carbohydrate can be harmful but what counts most is the type of fat, protein, and carbohydrate."
