Phoenicia Culinary Institute meets the local Jbeil factory, Gourmet Mushroom
17-December-2018
In the heart of Beirut, the Phoenicia Culinary Institute, Phoenicia Hotel Beirut's culinary school, brings cultures together and blends flavors to create a true culinary experience.
The Academy offers unique training and education to future industry professionals. On the other hand, the Club is dedicated to amateurs and enthusiasts who wish to learn more and live new experiences related to the world of gastronomy.
As part of the Club's activities, the Phoenicia Hotel's chefs and a very special group of guests went to Jbeil, the historic city of Lebanon, on Friday, December 7, for an unusual second day organized by Phoenicia Culinary Institute.
The team traveled to the hills overlooking the town of Jbeil, where the local Gourmet Mushroom operates and harvests a large selection of mushrooms. The tour ended at 1:30 pm and included a visit specifically dedicated to learning about growing and harvesting a wide variety of mushrooms such as White Button, Portobello, Gray, Yellow & Pink Oyster, Golden Enoki etc. . The chefs from Phoenicia Hotel offered a fully mushroom-based culinary demonstration that ended with a tasty tasting of seasonal dishes.
By organizing these exclusive tours, Phoenicia Culinary Institute supports local mushroom production and raises awareness among its guests about the importance of Lebanese companies that provide high quality ingredients to hotels. This is consistent with the project's mission to discover the culinary arts and master them to perfection, based on the cultural and gastronomic diversity of Lebanon and the heritage of Phoenicia Hotel Beirut.
