Debi.R: the most influential fashionista sisters!

Jinan, Hala and Kholoud are the girls we all want to be. They are stylish, smart, and their exuberant personality makes you immediately fall under their spell. They are now at the head of a real little fashion empire and their shop in the heart of Verdun quickly allowed them to establish themselves as one of the most influential fashionistas in the area. Special met the it-sisters for a fun fashion Q&A.

Were you always into fashion even when you were young?

The house was always a complete mess…Our mom could tell you more about it! We always loved shopping and playing dress up, and we had to buy three of everything but in different colors so we can exchange. And it was much different back then (no ipads, no video games or much tv channels), you could only play with your Barbies and dolls and tried creating similar outfits for them to match ours. And at that time a little girl would dress like a little girl, those fancy princess inspired dresses. We now look at our pictures and laugh about it.

How did you define the concept of the shop in the beginning?

The shop was our attempt to reflect our love for fashion and style. The fashion industry was quickly changing and evolving worldwide, and with our continuous travels and observations we noticed that there was a gap in the Lebanese market for contemporary style and fashion. Style is not anymore restricted to high end brands were you have to spend a fortune to be recognized as a fashionista, it’s becoming more real and accessible with the emerge of many new young designers and high street brands. And that’s what we wanted to deliver for our clients through the mix of brands that we bring.

How would you describe your personal style and fashion philosophy?

Jinan: Fashion is all about character for me. What you dress should reflect who you are effortlessly. Being trendy should not exclude practicality and self-comfort.

Hala: I am more of chic aesthetic style.I love mixing high end fashion with affordable every day pieces. I am fashion forward and open to any new trends.I love taking risks in fashion.It’s fun to change direction in your own style, as some people stick with what works for them only and never try to get out of their comfort zone.

Kholoud: Am more of a laid-back fun type when it comes to personal style.You could see me wearing a fancy dress with sneakers or a jogging pants with hot heels..playing around! And with time your philosophy changes, I tend to buy things that are for life now. I’m less inclined to be hypnotized by a trend or a 'moment’ ,  though I think that’s a really important part in young women's lives to experiment and sort of flirt with all those things because it sorts out who you are.

What trends are you most excited about this spring / summer 2016?

We ‘re so looking forward to SS16 fashion season. It’s all about Vivid Colors and prints, it’s gonna be like Rainbows Clash!Lots of colors and graphic prints are around.Ruffles are a key detail trend as well.

We will see the 90’s revival.The 1990s fashion scene was the most popular decade for inspiration at the SS16 shows. Channel your inner Kate Moss by teaming your slip with wellies and an oversized jacket, or take some sporty street styling inspiration. High shine fabrics are also on trend for the next season.

Also a major trend for SS16 will be the Boudoir look(lingerie like pieces), The slip dress is back and looking slinkier than ever – trimmed with scalloped lingerie lace ,also  in 90s satin or see-through chiffon. SS16 is  looking so sexy already !

As for accessories, more is more for SS16. Backpacks have been seen on most of the runways. A tiara or jeweled headband are a major trend too.
