How Often Couples Should Have Sex?

Although, there’s no clear rule, science seems to have an accurate response to how often couples should have sex.

A study, published in 2017 in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, showed that average couple has sex once a week, which means around 54 times per year. Also, researchers in social psychological and personality science found that couples who have sex at least once a week are happier in their relationship than those who get it on less often.

Having sex once or more a week will do no harm, but this doesn’t mean that every time you hit the bed with your partner, your happy hormones will level up. Raffi Bilek, a couple’s counselor and the director of the Baltimore Therapy Center, said that couples often shoot for some number in order to feel okay about their sex life… However, couples don’t need to be having sex any more or less, just do whatever makes them and their partner comfortable.
