What is Tarot?

Tarot cards are decks of cards with pictures, symbols, and numbers printed on them. These cards are used to give insights on your past, present and future.

 

How Tarot works?

The tarot deck is made of 78 cards divided into the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana.

Major Arcana are the labeled cards and represent principles, concepts, and ideas, and are typically more significant.

Minor Arcana are divided into four suits and represent the details of the situation described by the Tarot spread.

 

After Shuffling tarot deck very well, divide the cards into 3 piles. Then flip over the top card on each stack from left to right.

Now, before reading the cards, you must know what each pile represents:
 

Card 1: The Past

  • Past events that still affect you
  • Past events that are either holding you back or have the potential to help you

Card 2: The Present

  • Your current situation
  • Present challenges

Card 3: The Future

  • What direction things are moving in
  • The outcome of the present situation

A good tarot reader is a skillful storyteller, who has a powerful instinct. You can practice tarot to improve your skills too. Thus, tarot reading depends on your instinct and the feeling you have towards each card. Examine each card and see what did they make you feel; What sort of reaction do you have to them? Do they give you some sort of impression? Do you have any personal connection to any of the cards? How do the colors, symbols, and images resonate with you?

 

 

Interpreting the cards

Explaining tarot cards can very hard and needs experience. Therefore, if you’re a beginner, it is better to refer to the tarot book that comes with the decks to know the meaning of each card you have. Also, you can always use several online resources to expand your understanding.
