10 Foods to Boost Your Energy during Ramadan

If you constantly feel lazy and tired during Ramadan, don’t worry, it’s very normal to face such problem when fasting. A good night sleep is certainly useful, but consuming the right food will make you also feel more energetic during fasting.
Lee Holmes, a Certified Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, told the Daily Mail about all sort of food that boost energy levels in your body, she said: “If you are feeling tired try a few of my top 10 foods to fight fatigue and see what works for you — it may be one of them or it may be all of them!”
1- Nuts
Try to eat raw, unsalted nuts to provide your body with a high-energy and other nutrients which allow the body to easily digest food.
2- Yogurt
Add yogurt to your Iftar in order to boost calcium and probiotics - the good bacteria – that may indirectly help you fight fatigue and enhance the body’s immune system.
3- Salmon
Salmon is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and contains nutrients that help the body get the most energy from the other foods you eat. It is highly rich in protein, vitamin B6, niacin and riboflavin, which help to convert food into energy.
4- Mushroom
One cup of mushrooms provides almost 50 per cent of your daily serving of iron, which is essential in transporting oxygen within the bloodstream. Thus, without an efficient oxygen supply to our major organs, you might feel tired.
5- Spinach
Spinach is a great source of iron, magnesium and potassium. Magnesium plays a vital role in producing energy, and paired with potassium enables effective digestion in the stomach and the regulation of nerve and muscle function.
6- Pumpkin and Sunflower Seeds
They are also rich in magnesium which helps in bone, protein and fatty acid formation, and helps you with relaxing the muscles and maintain adequate calcium levels.
7- Sweet Potato
There‘s plenty of iron, potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin D in sweet potatoes, which help to increase energy levels and prevent feeling tired all the time.
8- Water
No doubt water is the most needed element for your body, because it keeps you hydrated and helps in carrying the nutrients and oxygen to your cells, which boost your energy levels. Women should have 8 cups of water minimum daily.
9- Fresh Vegetables
The benefits of fresh vegetables are endless! But when it comes to fighting fatigue, vegetables can be the perfect energy boosters for your body. Therefore, make sure to include them in your Iftar meals.
10- Eggs
Eggs are the highest source of complete protein; they ensure your muscles can recover properly after exercising and your body feels fresh for the day ahead.
