We definitely saw the fringes coming to our wardrobes this summer, after SS19 runways enhanced the bohemian twist with raffia belts, printed skirts, rope sandals and tie-dye pieces everywhere.
SS20 included 70’s style through fringes, which came in different shapes, to add a boho chic touch to every piece.
Fringes embellished jackets in different ways. We saw them on the sleeves of a long jacket, they were added on the pockets of another.
Maria Grazia Chuiri at Christian Dior who gave us a forest imagery in the collection and who taught us that “Nature sets us free”, detailed a long oversized jacket with short and spaced fringes on the breast area and on the fine ends, giving the printed design a bohemian vibe.

Moving to Ermano Scervino’s feminine and classical look, heavy fringes gave the jacket a fun detail and embellished the whole look. As for Jil Sander, the fringes stood out in the look, because they were long and oversized.

In Oscar De La Renta, fringes took the same color of the jacket and gave the nude iconic coat a new vibe.

Although Genny’s collection for summer 2020 did not have the bohemian vibe, the fringes at the end of a white oversized jacket managed to create a boho chic look.

Fringes on the SS20 were not seen only on jackets, but also, on bags, accessories and more. Maybe it’s time to try this trend and start with jackets for fresh spring evenings.
