Ramadan is completely different this year under COVID-19 mandatory lockdown and social-distancing. It may be difficult to maintain a positive thinking and optimism while everything is changing around us, leading to frustration.
You may have more time to rest and spend on spiritual growth this Ramadan, however, you may also feel isolated, exhausted and overwhelmed. Thus, developing some positive habits during Ramadan might help you feel good about yourself and stay optimistic.
How to stay optimistic during Ramadan amid lockdown?
Take care of yourself
Optimism comes from inside and reflects on the outside. Whoever said “love yourself first” was never wrong! Enjoy your time at home to take care of your beauty, feel and look beautiful, by having a good skincare routine, put some makeup on, try some interesting beauty DIYs… You should also pay attention to your health during Ramadan; make sure to maintain a healthy diet and stay fit by exercising regularly.
Enjoy hobbies and activities
If you spend Ramadan during lockdown by sitting all day in front of the TV or checking your phone every 5 minutes, you will end up feeling awful about yourself. Instead, try to do something interesting like practicing a hobby or doing some activities that make you feel better.
Communicate with others
You can always stay connected to your friends and family and check up on them while in home quarantine. Don’t just have a quick phone call, there are many video chat apps you can use to spend time with them while maintaining social distancing.
Avoid over-thinking
It may be a good idea to think about the future, just don’t overdo it! Sure, we have a lot to do after everything ends, but take it easy and plan everything without over-thinking, because it’s when the negative thoughts come in and ruin your mood. As a result, you will feel anxious and overwhelmed.
Count your blessings
The simplest and best thing you can do to keep your positivity going during Ramadan is by counting your blessings, feeling grateful about what you do have, and show some appreciation to others, especially during this Holy month.
