Do your skin a favor and wear sunscreen every day! Find out which one is the best for your skin type.
A sunscreen is known to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, which is an essential step in your skin care routine. However, not all sunscreens are the same; they have different SPFs, which determine how well your skin is protected from sunlight, as well as different combinations of ingredients.
There are two types of sunscreen: physical and chemical. Physical sunscreens remain on the surface of the skin and contribute to dispersing harmful ultraviolet rays, while chemical sunscreens work by absorbing UV rays and converting them into heat before they are released.
The best way to determine which sunscreen works best to protect your skin is to choose the one designed for your skin type.
Normal skin
Good news for all women with normal skin: You can use any sunscreen for daily use. Also, sunscreen with SPF 15 will be enough for you if you are at the office or indoors. But you will need a sunscreen with SPF 30+ if you are spend time under the sun, on the beach for example. Some sunscreen products for normal skin:
The Ordinary Mineral UV Filter SPF 30 with Antioxidants
REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Mattifying Face Sunscreen
Oily skin
If you have oily skin, you must choose the right sunscreen for you, because it can make your skin look oilier than it actually is. In fact, oily skin works best with chemical sunscreens that contain gel, alcohol, or mild ingredients. It is also recommended to choose a high SPF. Some sunscreen products for oily skin:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 60
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30
Dry skin
Dry skin does not have to be associated with the aging factor, but those with sensitive and eczema-prone skin may have dry skin as well. Note that sunscreen will not treat any skin problems, but rather protect your skin from harmful factors. Dermatologists recommend choosing your daily moisturizer that contain sun protection to provide the skin with soothing ingredients and protection as well. You can also mix a moisturizing cream with sunscreen with a high SPF and apply it to your skin. Some sunscreen products for dry skin:
Neogen Day-Light Protection Sunscreen, SPF 50, PA
Aveeno Daily Nourishing Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Combination skin
If you have oily skin in certain areas of your face, on the T-zone, your forehead, nose and chin, and you find your skin dry on the edges, then you have a combination skin. Although this variation in skin type may be a challenge, sunscreen that is compatible with both types can be used: pick a product that dries completely after application but is smooth enough for the dry ends of the face. Some sunscreen products for mixed skin:
EltaMD UV Pure Sunscreen SPF 47
Vanicream Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 35
