Homemade Pita Bread

Ingredients
 

2 ½ cups of flour
1 teaspoon of instant yeast
1 cup of warm water
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of olive oil

How to prepare


In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, yeast and warm water and knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth.
Grease the dough with olive oil, cover and set aside in a warm place for about two hours or until it doubles in size.
Spread the dough over a floured surface and divide it into 8 equal sections in a round shape of 6 mm thick.
Leave the dough pieces aside for about 30 minutes.
Put a piece of dough in a pre-heated oven in a baking tray for about 3 minutes until it doubles in size. Bake the dough only on one side so that it does not dry out!
Remove the bread and cover with towel.
Do the same with all dough pieces.
