Kylie and Kendall have been in the headlines lately because they are collaborating on a makeup line together, which will be available this Friday. The fans are looking forward to this new Kendall x Kylie makeup collection, but the Jenner sisters are facing some accusations which would leave them in big trouble.
Kylie and Kendall are being accused of refusing to pay the wages of their factory workers in Bangladesh, who produce their joint fashion line, Kendall + Kylie, since March.
"Given the unpredictability of the situation, our retail partners have cancelled orders, and existing inventory and product in production may have no sell-through," wrote Rick Darling, CEO of Global Brands Group, the company that owns Kendall + Kylie, in a letter. "Consequently, we have no choice but to make the difficult decision to cancel all S/S 2020 orders from all suppliers (without liability)."
On June 1, Remake, a non-profit against exploitation in fashion, called on the Jenners to pay the factory workers for the work they did ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Remake shared a post on Instagram announcing the launch of #PayUp campaign to hold fashion brands accountable during COVID-19 and to make sure that they pay factories for produced orders, as without their wages, many of the women who produce garments will become homeless and would starve.
Will the Jenner sisters pay their workers any time soon? Neither Kylie, Kendall, nor Global Brands Group has yet to respond to Remake’s report.
