If you think you are missing out summer, you better use this summer product the right way in order to look tanned with few brush strokes only.
For the past two months, some have been lucky enough to be able to sunbathe (in their garden or on a balcony) but the others have remained locked under their ceiling lights. Due to lockdown, the pale complexion of winter is still there which is causing regrets for those who like to enjoy a bronzing tan. How to get the tanning effect with two or three brush strokes? The sun powder that give the face a healthy glow. However, you must know how to use it!Sandrine Cano Bock, Chanel’s make-up artist told us about the common mistakes you should avoid when applying a bronzer.
1- Choosing the wrong shade
“When you want to benefit from a good-looking bronzer, it is important to choose the right color, choose brown shades rather than orange natural pigments. The texture should be fine and light for application,” recommends Chanel’s make-up artist.
What about the color shade? She recommends choosing a shade darker than your skin tone for light complexions, but no more! It will be the same for more tanned complexions. "You always have to remember your natural skin tone applying the bronzer tan and try to get the closest shade to your skin tone."
2- Applying it on wet face
"Avoid applying the bronzer on damp skin, as it might cause staining," warns the expert. Therefore, wait for few minutes, until the skin is completely dry, after applying day cream or foundation before the bronzer.
Another problem comes to show up in summer; sweating which is difficult to manage during hot days. "It is possible to use Chanel Belle Mine powder, because it has an extremely light texture. Anyways, the key is to avoid applying too much and avoid using a bronzing shade that is too dark,” Sandrine explains.
3- Applying the powder all over the face
If you use this product on the entire face, you will get anything but a natural look. "You won't look any better by applying too much bronzing powder, the result is often missed and it’s noticeable.”She continues: “To have a good-natural lookingbronzing effect, you have to apply itat the hairline on the top of the forehead, on the bridge of the nose, the top of the cheekbone and lightly on the chin. These are the areas that tan immediately when we are exposed to the sun.” The make-up artist also insists on the importance of always leaving light areas which "will bring radiance and freshness to the skin".
4- Using the wrong brushes
Can you use the same brush for your blush? The question of tools is always important when it comes to obtaining a subtle result.
"I like to use a fairly large blender brush, firm and flexible, for a more reasoned application which will allow better diffusion of the pigment for a natural effect," mentions Sandrine Cano Bock. The makeup artist insists on to always clean your brush well to avoid any breakouts.
