PARIS HAUTE COUTURE WEEK RECAP
The prestigious event gathered the best designers on the planet.
9-July-2016
Last week was the Haute Couture Fashion Week, where some of the most renowned designers of the world show some of the most beautiful outfits. Flick through our selection of the best looks of the week.
Valentino
This year, Valentino added dramatic ruff collars and cool buckle-up riding boots to their collection. The brand’s show was inspired by William Shakespeare: Criss-cross sleeves and gathered silken skirts were on the menu.
Zuhair Murad
Zuhair Murad makes us wish we could get married in his Haute Couture gowns. We can distinguish his signature in the sheer gowns, and the Lebanese designer was careful to add exquisite details on the wedding veil and gown.
Jean Paul Gautier
The couture master originally accentuated models' faces in cheek-bone hugging circular halos made from fur. We also spotted jackets sporting ballooned peplums, accentuated shoulders and asymmetrical midriff detailing.
Elie Saab
Elie Saab brought old-school Hollywood glamour back. Split leg, floor length sensuality was the order of the day. The designs included Chrysler window detailing, bird motifs, floral embroideries and hearts.
Armani
Giorgio Armani’s Armani Privé collection was far from being a disappointment. Satin trousers and collarless peaked-shoulder jackets and sleek velvet gowns were featured in his marvelous collection.
Dior
Dior presented their models wearing sported flat sandals, full skirts, narrow-waist blazers and most of his designs were in black and white excess embroidery and tulle.
Chanel
This season, the collection focused on somewhat overly sharp shoulders and lengthened jackets and tops. Flower-embroidered and shimmering beadwork summed up the looks of the week.
Versace
Versace revealed cashmere coats worn over satin dresses full of volume, drape, pleats and cut-out features. To add up, the brand added crystals on the evening coats and twisted satin drapes on the gowns.
