The world's last VCR will be manufactured this month
Don't you 90s kids feel old now?
22-July-2016
It’s official: today’s kids will have no idea what a video-cassette recorder is. Indeed, Japan's Funai Electric, the world's last VCR manufacturer, revealed that they won’t be producing them after this month.
The company has been manufacturing the machines since 1983. But since the VCR has been replaced by DVDs, Blu-ray and streaming video services like Netflix, there is really no point in keeping the old school business going, is there?
We’re sorry for all you vintage enthusiasts out there, you have only one month to collect your now antique VCR as they’ll be sold out soon.
