Strong shoulders will give you power this fall!
Fierce 80’s vibes

When we saw big shoulders on Fall 2020/2021 runways, we went back to an era when glamour and fantasy were the crux of the fashion industry. This trend that came in different shapes and ways, not only will unleash the fierce woman in you, but will definitely give you all the confidence and control you need. This late 80’s and first 90’s trend was present at big fashion houses’ runways, giving each time a different vibe with its different shapes and cuts, as it came with dresses, blazers, blouses, and more. So how are you going to style this trend?
Ruffled
Ruffles on big shoulders is a cut that combines two trends this fall. We saw big shoulders this year with some ruffles on the runways. The classical look from Alexander McQueen with ruffles around the shoulders and sleeves made us believe that classical looks only need a little detail to turn sassy. We also saw ruffles in Chanel and Max Mara.

Padded shoulders
We saw padded shoulders at Rick Owens, where shoulders held some big pads, but the cut was smooth. At Balenciaga, padded shoulders were sharply pointed in really bold looks on the runway. So are you the woman with smooth style or bolder one?

Puffy
On the runway, we frequently saw puffed shoulders, whether in classical looks in Givenchy, or in casual and elegant looks in Isabel Marant and we loved them both ways! Marni and etro also presented some puffy shoulders looks, check them out below.

From us to you
Big shoulders are a trend that we love and feel good about, especially that it gives women a powerful look. However, you should know how to style this trend and more about whether it suits your body shape or not.
If you already have wide shoulders, it’s preferably better not to wear the trend, because it will only make them look bigger and you should avoid that.
