Samar Maatouk
8-October-2020
Ingredients
The filling:
1 and a half cup of dates
1 and a quarter cup of hot water
2 teaspoons of instant coffee
½ teaspoon of vanilla
The dough:
1 and a half cup of flour
1 cup of oats
2/3 cup of brown sugar
¼ teaspoon of baking soda
½ cup cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup coconut oil (or butter)
100 g dark sliced chocolate
How to prepare
To prepare the filling, put the dates, hot water, coffee and vanilla in an electric mixer until the mixture becomes smooth. Set the filling aside.
In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add coconut oil (or butter) until the mixture is like sand. Set aside a cup of the mixture.
In a tray on greased baking paper, press the flour mixture until it sticks well. Place the date filling evenly on the mixture, then the chopped chocolate and finally the remaining amount of the flour mixture.
Put the tray in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the color is golden.
The mixture of chocolate can be added with some salt to give it a sweet-salty flavor.
Cut the plates and keep in the refrigerator. Serve cold.
