In its fourth edition, El Gouna Film Festival kicked off with an opening ceremony on the 23rd of October, bringing together finest names of Arab cinema. The festival, which opened in Egypt’s Red Sea Resort, will be ongoing until Saturday the 31st of October, and will showcase 63 films divided in different categories.
On the red carpet, luxury met style in many looks, making us go back in time to all the red carpets we have missed this year due to the coronavirus pandemic in the world. However, the festival respected social distancing restrictions, and rules were strictly followed, in addition to limiting the number of attendees to each film, compared to last year’s festival.
Stars chose stunning outfits reviving the red carpet with their glamorous looks. While some chose classic gowns, others mixed traditional with trendy details. Here are the looks we fell in love with on the red carpet during the first and second days of the festival.
First day
Yasmine Sabri, who opted for an embellished long gown from Lebanese designer Jean Pierre Khoury, was among the celebrities who rocked the red carpet on the first day.
Salma Abu Deif, the Egyptian “Sheikh Jackson” star, dazzled in a simple yet outstanding emerald white silk dress from the New York based label Naeem Khan.
Lebanese actress Stephanie Saliba opted for an embellished light blue Georges Hobeika gown on the first day.
Also in a Georges Hobeika glittery creation, actress Menna Shalaby went for a metallic long gown with minima accessories for a balanced yet eye-catching look.
Egyptian actress and model Tara Emad went for a classical look with Dana Shaaban’s black lace embellished creation. Minimal accessories added soft touches to the style.
Second day
The second day of the event wasn’t less luxurious nor less beautiful when it came to the stars’ looks. Here’s a look at our favorites from El Gouna Film Festival day 2.
Host of the event, Lebanese TV presenter Hilda Khalifeh opted for a black Elie Saab dress on the second day. We fell in love with her accessories which perfectly complimented the look.
TV presenter and celebrity journalist Raya Abirached stunned in a glamorous black gown from Maison Valentino. Ruffles and silver little stones along with transparent chiffon textile definitely were the details we are in love with, all combined in Raya’s gown.
Lojain Omran, who opted for red on the opening ceremony, went for full black on the second day of the event with a Charbel Karam Couture gown, embellished with pastel pink ruffles.
Saudi Arabian actress and singer Aseel Omran chose a coat-like dress in dark red from Max Mara, pairing it with black bag and pumps.
