Season 4 of The Crown was launched yesterday on Netflix, and all eyes were on Emma Corrin as Lady Diana and Gillian Anderson as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. They both definitely put us on binge watch mode last night.
The historical drama series is another Peter Morgan’s creation after his major hit “The Queen”, which covered Queen Elizabeth’s response to Princess Diana’s death in 1997. And “The Crown” is covering the Queen’s life from her childhood, to wartimes, to her wedding and her ascension as queen.
Season 4 is particularly interesting because of two iconic British women: Lady Diana and the Iron Lady. Starting with Emma Corrin who is playing Lady Diana: not only she looks so much like the late princess, she convinced us from the first second that she is actually Lady Diana. Corrin plays Diana as an innocent young girl who falls for the charming prince. Her mental health issues and how the Royal Family dealt with them are also explored in the series.
As for Gillian Anderson, we are not surprised that she played her role really well, after all the actress has forever proven her skills, so whether she’s dating Morgan in real life or not (she is), she was going to perform just like she did and we are in love with her fierce and strong character.
