Here’s why you should treat your lips daily

Now that winter is here, low temperatures definitely have their effect on our skin, and especially on our lips. This year, not only the weather is hitting our lips hard, but also our mandatory masks have their side effects on this area.
Keep scrolling for the advice of Augustinus Bader, skincare guru of Victoria Beckham to treat this delicate area.
If we often talk about the eye area as an extremely delicate area, our lips are also particularly fine and fragile. “Unlike the rest of our skin, the mouth has no hydro-lipid film or sebaceous glands (which secrete sebum). As a result, it does not have the same lipid or hydration reserves as the rest of the body. And it is more sensitive and less armed against external elements”, explains Professor Augustinus Bader. This specialist in regenerative medicine has convinced many personalities with his approach to skincare and his efficient treatments. Starting with Victoria Beckham, with whom he imagined a line of products for the face. Irina Shayk, Lily Allen, Kate Bosworth or Rita Ora are also some of the fans of the one who invented in 2008 a gel that heals the wounds of severe burns without going through surgery or skin grafts.
Act against the effects of time
To keep your lips soft and plump over the years, again it is important not to neglect the attention given to this area. “The collagen in our lips (as in all of our skin) begins to decrease with age. That is why, to prevent the first signs of aging, treating your lips should really be part of our daily routine,” explains the Swiss expert. He therefore recommends applying a dedicated treatment at least morning and evening. “And don’t forget to apply your lip balm whenever you want, as many times as you want during the day to maintain hydration and strengthen its barrier role."
The Lip Balm
To take care of the delicate skin of the lips, Augustinus Bader has just launched a lip balm. “We have incorporated the best of skincare technology and science to create our new product The Lip Balm. This combines our TFC8® system - a complex of natural amino acids, high quality vitamins and synthetic molecules naturally present in the skin, to activate the innate processes of repair and renewal of the skin. It is composed of "plant" collagen to restore moisture to the lips as well as Candelilla wax, a vegan alternative to beeswax, rich in nutrients which act as a barrier. " A mixed product that enriches the brand's range.
Last advice? A light massage that can help stimulate blood circulation in the lips, and therefore boost the production of natural collagen. And Professor Bader concludes with the ultimate advice: "Make sure you drink enough water every day!"
