The Dior house unveiled its Spring-Summer 2021 collection in a short film by Italian director Matteo Garrone, called Le Château du Tarot. A tale where the heroine displays pink hair.
Pink hair stood out as one of the major coloring trends of the year 2020. But also of the pandemic when Elle Fanning and Dua Lipa in the lead, went for this trend during lockdown. A pastel trend that should also be found in 2021 if we are to believe the latest short film signed Matteo Garrone for Dior. The French house has indeed asked again the Italian director to put in images its spring-summer 2021 haute couture collection. A film unveiled on January 25, the first day of the Couture week.
This tale inspired by Christian Dior's fascination with the divinatory arts features Italian actress Agnese Claisse, daughter of actress Laura Morante and French actor Georges Claisse. We discover the young woman evolving in a palace, sometimes with long hair in a powdery shade, sometimes with a pixie haircut. A detail? Perhaps, but that was without counting the success of this both soft and fierce color, of which the hasthag #pinkhair counts nearly 8 million references.
Forbes magazine also explained a little over a week ago that this pastel coloring had experienced sales peaks in England during the first lockdown. A trend that has continued beyond, for example Kaia Gerber dyeing her hair live on her Instagram account in August with hairdresser Guido Paulo.
Jennifer Lopez, took the option of lilac highlights in her last clip as revealed by Chris Appleton at the end of the year on social networks...
If pink hair has been more on social media, this time it has taken the couture dimension with this short film. And could well blossom into new faces in the months to come to the delight of blondes who can easily adopt it. For brunettes, you will first have to go through some dyeing and bleaching first.
