Eyebrow microblading can be confusing to some us, because the technique that was born in the late 70’s has come a long way and artistry skills have improved and the effects are now perfectly natural, so you can be sure it’s not the old stamped tattooed eyebrows that you’ve probably hated.
However, do you feel slightly terrified, yet intrigued by the idea of having your eyebrows microbladed?
We will share with you every single thing you need to know about the technique and what you should be paying attention to once you decide to go for it, and after the process.
First, What is eyebrow microblading?
Microblading is a technique using a super-fine pen (technically, a bundle of 12 to 15 needles) to deposit pigment into skin. The tip is so thin, in fact, that it can create perfect little hair strokes, reaching only the superficial layers of the skin. And according to some artists, this technique is better than many other techniques because it gives a natural look and stimulates the hair at the same time.
Second, What should you know before going for it?
- Your skin type can affect the results, so you better talk to your dermatologist because it’s all about the healing process. Oilier skin tends to take more time.
- Your natural hair growth won’t stop. When done correctly, it shouldn’t have any effect on your natural hair growth, but stimulating the hair growth will give you a fuller look.
- The healing can take up to one month. You will notice that the first few days, the color is noticeable and dark, until the color starts getting normal and on the 30th day is when you have the last version of your eyebrows.
- Do not pick the flakes or scabs prematurely because you might pull out the pigment and lose the color in that area.
- Avoid the sun and retinol products after the microblading technique.
And now we come to the most important part, choosing your artist. Your artist defines what your future eyebrows are going to look like, so choose wisely even if the choice is a bit pricey. Two characteristics should lead you to the right choice: expertise and talent.
