Period drama Bridgerton got us all binge watching the lavishing series in just one night and we can’t wait for season 2. Meanwhile, let’s have a beauty session on the series. We have loved the couture gowns and the sassy romance but we’re entering the beauty world of the series with its own makeup artist. So if you’ve been wondering about the pink-ish lips of Daphne Bridgerton, here’s the secret revealed by the artist herself.
The Bridgerton’s makeup artist detailed the beauty look of the heroine Daphne, or more like how to reproduce the lips of this young woman who conquered the heart of the Duke of Hastings.
To create the beauty look of Daphne Bridgerton, Lyndy J. Pearce, makeup artist of the series, worked to create a very English pink effect, just like the hairdresser who pulled off the hairstyles.
For her lips, the idea was simple: Pearce wanted them to "look luscious and kissable" as reported by makeup brand Pixi. A bet which she won, proof is the first passionate kiss between the young girl and the Duke of Hastings. It is to Pixi Sheer, which was used to color the lips of actress Phoebe Dynevor, that we owe this effect. On the technical side, she applied it with a brush but only in the center of the upper and lower lip. A product that she sometimes accompanied with a touch of Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk lip liner on Cupid's bow and at the center of the lower lip.
Interviewed by blogger Cupcake and Cashmere, the makeup artist also revealed that she sometimes relied on simplicity, especially for daytime scenes, when Daphne is at home. For that, a simple balm is enough and she used the Dr. Pawpaw Original Lip Balm. For the makeup artist, this is also the detail never to be missed: "Never let your lips dry out ... keep them hydrated and kissable at all times."
For the rest of her makeup, she signed her looks with products like the iconic Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent “to hide dark circles” and add a touch of highlighter, and the Chanel Universal Free Powder to fix makeup.
