If both fashion and beauty worlds have taught us anything, it’s that old things will become new again, all you have to do is give them some time to do their booming comeback. The ongoing pandemic did a lot, but was never able to stop a trend from showing up and doing its magic, especially when it comes to hairstyles. Remember how copper hair popped up during lockdown peaks?
Well, there’s a new hairstyle, coming straight from the 60’s, but with a modern spin on it: It’s the hair flip.
Jacqueline Kennedy
The hair flip has been there for decades (Jacqueline Kennedy’s signature hairstyle back then was based on a hair flip), and it came back to add some retro vibes to our looks. This time it came slightly flatter and sleeker. The volume that used to be seen at the crown of the head is replaced with a sleek and straight hair with ends curled into a C shape. In addition to the original sleek hair and thick ends, celebrities are experimenting with the trendy hairstyle: we saw the half-up-half-down ponytail, the flipped-out high ponytails, and definitely the voluminous bob haircut.
The super-flattering and flirty hair flip never disappeared and it was always there, we just didn’t get to see it much until it boomed now, with all the celebrities hopping on the trend.
With spring being just around the corner, this 60’s-inspired hairstyle could be the twist that’ll keep all eyes on you, whether it’s a casual outing with your friends, or on a dinner night out, you can even invest in the hairstyle for a work meeting.
