Vulnerable And Soft: Paris Hilton Is That You?

That’s hot! Paris Hilton was chosen by the French fashion house, Lanvin, to embody its spring/summer 2021 campaign. The DJ, model and heiress who is after all the “original influencer”, appeared serene, chic and really soft in this new intimate and warm photoshoot.
Donning a bob hairstyle, wearing a leather coat with dark sunglasses, a floral dress, or a sequined top, it’s an ultra-chic Paris Hilton that embodies the spring-summer campaign of the Lanvin house.
Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the collection entitled “Yu Garden” and presented in Shanghai in October 2020 explores "the links between the old and the new, the past and the contemporary, but also the heritage of the fashion house, its archives in other words, in addition to the codes that define it”. The campaign presents Paris Hilton as the point of convergence of several mythical women.
First, we start with the “swans”, the upper-class women who made fashion in 1950s in New York and who perhaps foreshadowed what Paris Hilton has become: the very first influencer. Today, an almost mythical status to which Bruno Sialelli, the artistic director of the Lanvin house, wanted to pay tribute to: “When we started discussing this campaign, I already knew that I wanted to show Paris as we had never seen her before. She is famous for her long blonde hair and glittery style. We wanted to highlight her ability to transform, just like a swan. She is the originator of the influencer movement, of "famous for famous" and I wanted to show the world how far she was able to go in the industry that she created. We stripped the styling and allowed her natural beauty to be captured".
We also think of such prestigious icons as Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, or Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. As for Paris Hilton, she had Jeanne Lanvin, the founder of the house in mind: “She was able to build an empire from a small store that still exists 130 years later. Her entrepreneurial spirit is absolutely amazing. Doesn't that remind you of someone?"
That's Paris!
Becoming the face of a prestigious French fashion house? Well that’s a hello to all those who still see Paris Hilton as a somewhat tabloid heroine. So a new era is opening for the really famous media personality. At 40, has Paris Hilton reached the age of reason? Last February, she was showing a more engaged side of herself, testifying before the Utah Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee about acts of abuse she had been subjected to while she was a student at Provo Canyon School in her teen years. “I cannot fall asleep at night knowing that children are experiencing the same abuse that I and many others have suffered; and neither should you” she concluded.
A striking testimony after which a law was passed to monitor and regulate child welfare centers in Utah. Then there was the documentary This is Paris, which broadcasted in October 2020, where Paris Hilton revealed how much she had the feeling of being a prisoner of an image of a brainless blondie that did not correspond to her. A film that altered the way we looked at Paris Hilton, revealing her tomboy side who only dreamed of one thing: becoming a veterinarian.
Marriage and babies?
In the meantime, Paris Hilton takes care of her chihuahuas, and her private life. In a relationship for more than a year with an entrepreneur, Carter Reum, she announced in January that she had decided to follow an in vitro fertilization (IVF) protocol, on the advice of another mogul who became a fashion icon, future lawyer and wife of 'business. "It was Kim (Kardashian) who told me about it," she said in the podcast "The Trend Reporter with Mara" on Tuesday, January 26. I didn't know anything about it. I'm glad she gave me this advice and introduced me to her doctor". Hilton also announced her engagement last February. It’s her fourth engagement, and the three previous ones ended in a breakup. If it happens again this time, Paris Hilton's life has in any case taken a new path. Which finally corresponds a little better to her personality.
