All eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton as she paid tribute to two important women of the royal family during Prince Philip’s funeral.
When it comes to royals’ fashion, every outfit’s detail is a hidden message, and Kate Middleton knows exactly how to impress and win over any in-law. During the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, Kate Middleton was photographed with one of the Queen Elizabeth’s gorgeous necklaces: A pearl choker with a diamond-shaped clasp in the middle. Seen several times wrapping the queen’s neck in the 70’s and 80’s, this necklace is definitely a statement accessory.
Worn with her Roland Mouret black dress with an asymmetrical neckline, the necklace was initially a gift to the queen from the Japanese government and made by Garrard & Co, a London-based jewelry brand.
The dress was the one Kate Middleton wore to the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in 2018, according to the Daily Mail.
Princess Diana also wore the jewelry pearl piece for a 1982 state visit to the Netherlands.
In 2017, Kate wore the same necklace for the 70th anniversary of the Queen and Prince Philip.
As for her earrings, they too had a royal touch, because they were also a wedding gift from the ruler of Bahrain.
