Lebanese lentil soup for Ramadan Iftar

Ingredients
2 cups of red lentils
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons of olive oil
6 cups of water
Salt and pepper to taste
3 teaspoons of cumin
2 teaspoons of turmeric
Lemon juice
How to prepare
Wash and drain the lentils.
In a pot over a stove, cook the onions in oil until soft.
Add lentils and stir for a minute, then add water, salt, pepper, cumin and turmeric.
Leave the mixture on the stove until it boils, then on a medium heat for 20 minutes until it condenses. More water can be added if needed.
Serve hot with lemon juice.
