We’d do anything, literally anything, to have a soft, healthy and glowy skin, so what if the treatment is right in our kitchen? Nothing will feel better than pampering your face with homemade treatments that are as delicious as they are nourishing.
Dry and sensitive skin needs to be taken care of every day to push the feelings of tightness, unsightly redness, and the dull complexion away. For your face to step up against the aggressors you come across every day, we gathered for you a few grandma homemade recipes to regain your soft skin.
Avocado and banana
To nourish the skin, avocado and banana are excellent anti-cold remedies. Avocado, often used in the care of mature skin, has regenerating and antioxidant properties. It protects the skin from external aggressions, such as wind or pollution, and leaves a protective layer which perfectly preserves the upper layer of the epidermis. Bananas, rich in nutrients, deeply nourish the skin and help it regenerate.
The homemade avocado-banana face mask is the simplest. We crush a banana and half a ripe avocado, then add a tablespoon of liquid honey. When we have obtained a creamy mixture, we apply with a brush on the face, avoiding the eye area. After 10 minutes, remove the excess with a cotton ball soaked in floral water and rinse with mineral water.
Honey and clay
To gently cleanse your face, white clay is the ideal candidate: it absorbs fat without stripping the skin. It’s really delicate that it’s well tolerated even for those who trend to blush. Mixed with honey, it creates a treatment that is both hydrating and purifying. Renowned for its nourishing and emollient properties, honey has soothing properties. To make a mask, mix a tablespoon of white clay, a tablespoon of plain yogurt and a tablespoon of liquid honey (like acacia honey). Then apply to clean, dry skin and leave for about twenty minutes. For rinsing, thermal or mineral water is preferred, because tap water can be really harsh on sensitive skin.
Egg and sweet almond oil
While egg white is often used for the care of oily skin, we often forget the moisturizing and nourishing properties of egg yolk for dry skin. This ingredient also has the advantage of unifying the complexion by reducing small spots. To boost the effectiveness of your egg facial treatment, combine the yolks with a rich vegetable oil, such as olive oil, or sweet almond oil. To make this recipe, mix two egg yolks with a crushed fruit such as a banana or an avocado, then add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Finally, we apply the mixture on the face, and we wait about twenty minutes before rinsing.
