Levi’s iconic jeans are getting revamped by Italian high fashion houses Valentino and Miu Miu. Now that lockdowns are “hopefully” over and we are gradually ditching Zoom calls with our friends and meeting them face to face, it’s time we leave sweatpants, yoga pants and loungewear behind and put on our favorite jeans. But not any jeans; we are obsessing over the collaborations between Levi’s and two luxury brands: Valentino and Miu Miu.
Denim specialist Levi’s is seeing a revival of its iconic vintage jeans thanks to collaborations with high fashion brands like Valentino and Miu Miu. In addition to that, the American brand has also been making its own efforts to appeal to the new generation of eco-minded shoppers. So are you ready to replace your old Levi’s jeans with new sustainable ones?
We are, so we’re breaking down all the details on the Levi’s x Valentino and Levi’s x Miu Miu. Keep scrolling to know more.
Levi’s x Valentino
The surprise at Valentino Spring/Summer 2021’s runway was the collaboration with Levi’s, in reimagining the 517 boot-cut jeans, which were first introduced in 1969, and quickly became an iconic staple of American fashion.
The Italian house’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and denim specialist Levi’s reframed the iconic 517s by adding a feminine twist and a custom label showing an individual number and Valentino’s logo. The collection is limited to 517 pieces, but every jeans is a vintage, made from upcycled 517 previously-worn jeans. The collection is available on Net-a-porter.
Levi’s X Miu Miu
The collection that resulted from this collaboration is a celebration of pre-loved and iconic pieces from Levi’s. Upcycled by Miu Miu has cherry-picked 501 jeans and trucker jackets from the '80s and '90s, which have then been hand-embellished with crystals and pearls.
The Crown’s actress Emma Corin and model Lila Grace Moss starred in the campaign shot by Johnny Dufort. Each of them was wearing denim pieces embellished with crystals and metals that look so dreamy. In the details, we loved the trucker jackets with giant lace collars.
The collection will be available in all Miu Miu stores worldwide starting 18 May.
