“We are empowered to an extent that we will never give up”, it’s exactly what comes to my mind whenever I think of all the influential Palestinian women.
Against all odds and despite the difficult situation, Palestinian female designers have always found their ways into success while mixing their talents with the political and local situation and turn it all into art and design.
After meeting 6 influential women of Palestine in different sectors, it’s time you meet successful and well-known Palestinian female fashion designers. Keep an eye on these 4 strong and passionate women.
Meera Adnan
Meera Adnan is a Gaza-based contemporary fashion designer and founder of her own namesake ready-to-wear label. Meera adnan found her way of fighting back: fashion. Her designs are on one hand rebellious and on the other romantic, channeling Gaza’s breathtaking nature. “Fashion is fluid, unconventional, powerful, and so is the culture of the new generation in Gaza who are trying to challenge both political restrictions and social conventions” she said to the press earlier.
Fashion became a way for her to explore her identity and subvert ideas of both Palestinian femininity and masculinity. You’ll never expect the romantic twists she adds, but you’re sure going to find them here and there.
Nadya Hazboun
Nadya Hazboun is a Palestinian-Czech fashion designer who was raised in Bethlehem, Palestine. She’s a fashion and jewelry designer who seeks to stand out and make a difference. In her womenswear collection and in her jewelry line, she mixes European class with the Middle Eastern aesthetic to create unique and unforgettable designs.
For her jewelry line, her original vision was to give the traditional olive wood in Bethlehem a modern edge allowing all women to carry a little piece of the Holy Land with them all the time. Her designs are dramatic and funky.

Natalie Tahhan
Nathalie Tahhan is a Palestinian fashion designer who has taken her passion to the next level, bringing the Palestinian heritage and culture to your wardrobe. She’s the founder and owner of her namesake brand. The Jerusalem-based designer launched her label in 2015 aiming to celebrate the culturally rich elements of Palestine. She graduated from the London college of Fashion and shifted later on to collaborations with various designs companies in the Middle East and the UK.
She nails turning the Palestinian traditional clothing into modern designs while keeping the same spirit in them. “The concept is to weave traditional Palestinian elements of intricate hand sewn embroidery and print into contemporary designs, to create exclusive pieces marked by elegance and innovation”, says Tahhan.
Reema Al Banna
Reema Al Banna is a Palestinian UAE-based fashion designer who is the creative and master mind behind Reemami Ready-to-wear label. As she was growing up, she realized she’s interested in arts, visuals and designs and was always passionate about designing. She graduated from Esmod Dubai and that was her first step in the fashion industry.
Her brand Reemami is one of the first Middle Eastern brands to be committed to sustainability, ethical designing, women empowerment and most importantly active & healthy lifestyle. In short, Reemami is a representative of change for the better.
