As if 2016 wasn’t cruel enough.
30-December-2016
William Salice, the inventor of the famous Kinder Surprise, has held his last breath on Thursday, December 29 due to a stroke. He was 83 years old. The Italian chocolatier was a close friend of Michel Ferrero, creator of Nutella and Ferrero Rocher.
It was in the 70s that Salice had the idea to create chocolate eggs in which therre is a small toy that you can mount yourself.
Gigi Padovani wrote her book "Nutella" in which he revealed how the Kinder Surprise was born: "You know why children like Easter eggs so much? Because there's a surprise inside. So let us give them Easter every day."
May his soul rest in peace and may he be surrounded by thousands of chocolates.
