Elie Saab Bridal Fall 2023
An Echo of Polyhymnia

Lebanese designer Elie Saab unveiled his Bridal Fall 2023 evoking intuitive aesthetics and idyllic proportions, with a call for Grecian pursuit of harmonious beauty. A collection that gives breath and movement to an echo of Polyhymnia, with the aim of celebrating the majestic bridal femininity with its contours.
What made this collection an echo of Polyhymnia are luscious fabrics and refined detailing. Classical virtues were elevated into contemporary moments thanks to statuesque silhouettes sculpted with noble materials. Lush foliage and embroidered laurel leaves, like victorious Olympian crowns, gloriously wreath around strapless bodices and down ethereal tulle into demure a-lines. Glimmering beads and crystals dance with soft lace panels to rhythms of light embroideries and vibrant textures that glisten with the allure of virtuous white marble sculptures. Sumptuous draped mikado enfolds natural forms with floral buttoned bursts, while Chantilly lace blossoms across sweetheart necklines and translucent sleeves into revealing open-back ballgowns.
To enhance aesthetics of symmetry, each dress has been crafted carefully with balance and harmony. Translucent gemstones shimmer across a V-neckline, gathering at delicately knotted waistline before streaming into a modest but equally dazzling floor-sweeping skirt. Like the pillars of ancient temples, volutes of fine crepe georgette braids lined with glistening details move off the shoulder into gracious fluted columns. In the same spirit, luminescent sequins, beads and pearls structurally swirl off the shoulders and down a sweetheart fitted bodice like opulent colonnades carried by contrasting ruffled tiers. Veils lined with complementing embroideries from crown to floor and quintessential ELIE SAAB defined waist, bring a final touch of grace and poise.
From luscious fabrics of abundance to silhouettes of golden proportions, ELIE SAAB Bridal Fall 2023 captures the gestures of Ancient Greece to create a collection of mythical proportion.
