In line with the latest fashion trends this season, the brown color has become more flattering than the black. It looks like this shade is making a surprising comeback; it has been adopted by many celebrities, including Kendall Jenner.
On February 5th, Kendall Jenner was seen in Los Angeles on her way to a dinner in the West Hollywood area. The model opted for a Bottega Veneta silhouette, copied in every detail on the catwalk of the Italian label during the spring-summer 2023 show. For once, it's not the asymmetrical dress, nor the slingbacks with pointed tips that are the focus, but Kendall Jenner's legs, dressed in a pair of mahogany-colored tights. A tone that is rare on this piece of the wardrobe, which color and opacity are still the subject of lively debate.
The revival of brown
Now the chocolate shade could benefit from its fashion moment. In any case, this is what the tights brand Calzedonia has observed, indicating that in December 2021 the color mocha represented 1% of sales of tights veil, against 9% in 2022. If the figure remains low, it still shows a small flight, which is also manifested on social networks.
Mahogany, coffee or caramel, the brown palette is slowly but surely making its way back into the vocabulary of tights. A return that can also be explained by the precepts of the fashionable theory of colorimetry. These question the universality of black, suggesting that brown, warmer, flatters more certain skin tones. The opinion is spreading on TikTok, where many videos are listed praising the merits of this stylistic find that would supplant the classic black in everyday clothes.
All the lights are brown
Because they are a basic, as well as black, but also fancy tights, as well as any other color, the pairs of chocolate tights have a double hat. Twice as many reasons to try it? To get started, it's best to choose your side. Either play the color card and opt for opaque tights, to insert for example in a monochrome look. Or find a slightly brown shade to substitute for black to subtly revive a look. It's all about desire.
