13-March-2023
On March 10th, Dubai Fashion Week made its long-awaited debut, kicking off with the iconic collection of Dubai-based label Amato. The first day comprised 5 fashion shows in total.
Amato Retrospective
Portraying evolving glam and success, Dubai-based label Amato celebrated 25 years of continuous renowned creations. For this collection the label opted for powerful designs from the brand’s conception till this day. Creative and inspiring pieces were designed for a strong person comfortable in their own skin and is after breaking status quos to follow their dreams. The fabrics, lavish materials, and rare embellishment techniques are what makes this Dubai- based label a global one.
Anomalous x Hot Wheels
The most-awaited and fashionable capsule. Collaborating with Hot Wheels; the number 1 selling toy in the world, Dubai-based label Anomalous unveiled its iconic capsule collection off-venue around hundreds of guests from the broad fashion industry. This collection comprised bomber jacket with patchworks, re-imagined formal wear, along with experimental and colorful racing inspired garments mixed with signature Anomalous patterns.
Maison Du Mec
Mastery of minimalism and modern art; this is how we can describe the newest collection of Maison Du Mec. Staying true to the designer’s identity, the collection takes everyday essentials and elevates them into sophisticated, yet simple pieces. Designs like faultlessly tailored jackets, flowy fabrics and futuristic pieces broke boundaries on the runway, reflecting the designer's non-conformist approach to fashion. The use of accents such as pink and green, along with hues of silver, grey, and black, uplift the collection, while the leather designs exude rebellion and edginess, perfectly reflecting the brand's signature style.
MOK
In today’s Elsewhere Collection, MOK came back with pieces that not only resonate with the fashion loving persona inside of the guests but to dig deeper into the collection’s perception of escapism and bareness. Inside out coats, jute-top stitched pockets and patchwork cubic jackets came together to conjure nostalgia and the process of recollecting memories. The man figure walking down the catwalks with the versatile structures of a thobe, textile infusion of kimonos, oversized veils and harem pants combined duality of belonging and void. MOK’s story came to life and left everyone looking inside themselves in owe to these special creations.
