Oscar De La Renta Fall 2023 Collection

4-April-2023
As a resplendent autumn harvest rich with color and texture, nature has been reinterpreted by Co-Creative Directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim for the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2023 collection.
In this collection, flowered fabrics are notable, highlighted by geraniums and morning glories in shades ranging from bright white to soft ivory, from delicate pink to deep red. Blossoms drift across cotton dresses that skim the thigh and graze the calf, with sleeves that are sheer, long, puffed, juliet or simply not there at all. The collection introduces partially sketched floral patterns reminiscent of an artist who has left portions of a blank canvas, laid bare to the viewer’s imagination. Floral notes throughout Fall 2023 manifest in exceptionally unexpected ways.
Shades of purple and blue suggesting a bouquet of irises grace coats, jackets and dresses, creating a changeant effect as the colors transitions into chrysanthemum. Black makes an appearance in dresses, a sheer cape and pants sometimes springing up in the guise of fringes and tulle bows, other times juxtaposed with creamy white. Colors, textures, and patterns define the collection, reflecting Oscar de la Renta’s vision, creativity, and innate inspiration.
A palette of sage, sienna and safflower lends a seasonal softness to statement outerwear, interpreted in patchwork patterns for day dresses. Tailored tweed suits blend aqua, rouge, teal and grape with ivory for a crisp, classic look.
The eyelash technique, which first appeared in Pre-Fall 2022, is applied to a flirty bubblegum minidress, combining drama with simplicity. This method also lends fluid radiance to gold and silver metallics, taking blazers and skirts to new heights.
For eveningwear, morning glories made of guipure lace adorn curve-hugging dresses in ebony over nude. The same blossoms reverse out of inky black, featured in a strapless gown with a court train.
